It is essential that contractors should adapt their tools and equipment to the development of underground tube renewal techniques.

While tube manufacturers first and foremost think of the most efficient way of manufacturing and packing, tube laying contractors are faced with the problem of how to transport and install the tubing.

To be able to transport a drum of U-liner with a width of 2150 mm and a diameter of 3200 mm, a completely new loading concept had to be developed. On the basis of the BKTseries of cable trailers a loading frame has been designed which lifts the tube drum from the rear of the trailer by engine/hydraulic drive over the rear axle and lowers it on the centre of the loading platform exactly between both axles.

Almost the full width of the trailer is used as loading area without exceeding the permissible width according to the motor vehicles licensing regulations.
